Blocked Drains Edinburgh

Blocked gully drains can cause significant problems for homeowners and businesses in East Lothian, leading to flooding and damage to properties. At Blocked Drains Edinburgh, we provide a comprehensive drain unblocking service to help resolve these issues quickly and efficiently.

A gully drain is a type of drain that collects rainwater and surface water from roofs, driveways, and other areas. It is typically located outside a property and is connected to the main sewer system. Gully drains are designed to capture debris and sediment, preventing it from entering the sewer system and causing blockages.

Blocked gully drains can occur due to a variety of reasons, including:

• Debris and sediment accumulation
• Tree roots growing into the drain
• Poor maintenance
• Heavy rainfall and flooding

If you notice any of the following signs, it may indicate that your gully drain is blocked:

• Water pooling around the gully drain
• Slow draining or overflowing
• Unpleasant odors or smells

If you suspect that your gully drain is blocked, there are several steps you can take to try and unblock it:

1. Clear Debris: Use a shovel or trowel to remove any visible debris or sediment from the gully drain.
2. Use a Drain Rod: Insert a drain rod into the gully drain and rotate it to break up any blockages.
3. High-Pressure Water Jetting: Use a high-pressure water jet to flush out the gully drain and remove any remaining debris.

If you are unable to unblock your gully drain using the above methods, it may be time to call a professional. At Blocked Drains Edinburgh, our team of experienced engineers are equipped with the latest technology and equipment to quickly and efficiently unblock your gully drain.
